heyyyyyyyyy guys! I'm back from the beach! And boy howdy it was a fun week. Had some interesting times, but other than that it was completely enjoyable. We had the ride from HELL on the way back home tho. And if you think you've been in a worse situation, you've got another think coming. So we're driving driving driving- we've made pretty good time- for about 5 hours, then we hit the Springfield Mixing Bowl. I was talking to my dad on the phone when Christina says "the battery's low". I said, "yea, I know my cell battery's low, I'm about to get off." She says "no, no Lara- my CAR battery is low! My light is on." SOOOO, we figured we'd get off at the next exit- the problem being that the next exit was about 50 feet away...in stopped dead traffic. 95 north splits into 3 different roads in the mixing bowl, and two of them were closed because of major construction that they were working that night. Then the car started making these very strange draining sounds. We figured that was the battery dying. We see a cop car and what looks to be a tow truck pulled over on the left side of the road so we pull across 3 lanes of stopped traffic to one of the closed off lanes because of construction. We talked to the construction guy and the cop, they said that we couldn't do anything except for call a tow truck because the car had about 10 minutes of battery left in it. Right about then the car died. I had my AAA card, we called it- they told us we'd have a tow truck in about an hour and a half, and we waited. Take into account that this was at 9:05 at night that we called, and we had been driving since 3:45. We wait and wait, then the cop comes up to us and tells us that they are going to call another truck company because AAA was taking too long- they said we were going to be reimbursed by AAA. So we waited around for those people to come, all the while i'm sitting on this ledge under an overpass right in the center of the mixing bowl. Did I mention it was raining? And lightninging? Yes, that too. So around 11:30 the Redman towtruck pulls up- the entire time before that Christina was trying to explain to her parents what was going on, and they didn't really understand all that much...it was really frusterating. At midnight we get to the truckyard and I pee, which i had been wanting to do since 9, and we sit and wait for my mother who is coming to pick us up. The tow truck driver was REALLY nice...we talked to him for a while. Once my mother got there we had to unload our stuff into her car in the POURING rain- and I mean POURING. THEN, we got lost coming home. 95 was backed up till no tomorrow so the dispatcher told us a different way to get home. Yea, well, we got in around 1 and crashed like nobody's business. I'll type more about the BEACH later, but i'm going to see this movie with my dad right now so i'll write more later.
